Memphis Softball lose on the road to RV Mississippi State
STARKVILLE, MS. –Memphis softball lose on the road in Starkville against RV Mississippi State 5-0. The Tigers are now 0-11 all-time against the Bulldogs and 0-6 at Nusz Stadium.
Mariah Nichols got the start in the circle for the Tigers. This was her fifth start and 10th appearance in the circle this season. Nichols gave up three runs on four hits and had three strikeouts in four innings. Emily Williams got the start for the Bulldogs. She recorded 10 strikeouts in six innings in the circle. Kailey Hilderbrand and Chyanne Ellett also made appearances in the circle for the Tigers
The Bulldogs got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning as Carter Spexarth doubled to center to give them a 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs got back on the board in the bottom of the fourth as they scored two runs on a single by Christian Quinn. Anna Kate Segars added one more in the bottom of the sixth with a double to right center to extend the Bulldog lead to 4-0. They would add another run in the inning to make it 5-0.
Gracie Morton had one of the three hits for the Tigers in the game, with a triple in the top of the third. Morton is having a good season at the plate for the Tigers. She leads the Tigers with a .317 batting average and has six RBI and five extra base hits.
The Tigers have fallen to 1-12 on the season and the Bulldogs have improved to 15-5.

The Tigers are back at Memphis Softball Complex this weekend with a double header on Friday against Mississippi Valley State and a three game series versus Indiana State. The Tigers will play the Sycamores in a double header on Saturday and the series finale on Sunday.
