Republicans are picking the wrong fight and fighting the wrong team. Paradoxically, if they win, it might be the demise of Republican Party itself. Then they might call themselves a Republican, but no, then the whole party will be Republican-in-name-only, ironically.
Our country needs more than a single party at the national stage. Two party system was doing pretty well, regardless of what critics say. One party was for regulation and governance while other was for individuality, pro-business and laissez faire approach to regulations. America has become the most powerful nation on earth, with a stable political and economic environment for centuries and both parties have contributed to it. Now, if the Republican Party cannot win people's heart and minds without scare-mongering people, without a stream of lies and falsehoods, without misinformation media network and without external support, do they really deserve to win any election in the future? The answer is no-brainer.
And, what is the point even if they win the election anyway? The Republican Party needs to do little bit of house cleaning and bring purpose within their party ranks and some good politics. It seems like they are just trying to see what sticks. Republicans should understand Democrats are not their enemy, just their competitors. Like a football game, a team plays to win the game, not to destroy the other team and set fire to the stadium.
While trying to win, they should not accept law-breakers, liars, crooked individuals and organizations- no matter what benefit they may bring to the party. Such benefits will be short-lived, will harm people and public order and only enrich the crooks and few select individuals. And neither Democrats nor Republicans will win, only the crooks will win.
