The Arizona Wildcats last won a football game on Oct. 5, 2019, and the streak did not end Saturday with a 21-19 loss against in-state rival NAU.
Entering the day with a 714 day losing streak, NAU walked in to Tucson 0-2 and were 24.5 point underdogs.
UArizona benched starting quarterback Will Plummer half way through the third quarter and turned to Jordan McCloud, the third quarterback in as many games for the Wildcats.
Plummer was 19-of-34 with 191 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.
The Jedd Fisch era has opened poorly now moving to 0-3 with losses to BYU, San Diego State and NAU.
When Arizona defeated Colorado in 2019, the Wildcats were 4-1 and on a four-game win streak, yet finished the season 4-8 (2-7 in conference).
The first conference game on the docket for the Wildcats is a road game at No. 4 Oregon at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN, followed by a visit to Tucson from UCLA.
Expectations were not high for the Wildcats entering the season as they were projected to place last in the conference.
