Camillus, N.Y. — The Applebee’s in Camillus will close for good in October, according to a layoff notice filed with the state Labor Department.
The restaurant is located in the Camillus Commons plaza, which is also home to Walmart and Lowe’s, among others. The address is 5241 W. Genesee Street.

A total of 32 people will lose their job in the closure, according to the notice. The closing date is Oct. 25.
The notice lists the economy as the reason for the closure.
Restaurants across New York and the rest of the country have been among the hardest hit during the coronavirus pandemic.
Like other nonessential businesses, restaurants in New York were shut down for months starting in March, although they were allowed to continue takeout and delivery service. They have been allowed to reopen for in-person dining in recent weeks.
