BRADENTON, Fla. -— Alyssa Thomas scored 25 points on 10-for-14 shooting, DeWanna Bonner had 14 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, and the Connecticut Sun beat the New York Liberty 85-62 on Saturday.

The Liberty (1-12), who have lost seven in a row, never led.

More WNBA: A'ja Wilson scored nine of her 23 points in the second quarter as Las Vegas pulled away for good and the Aces beat the Seattle Storm 82-74. Breanna Stewart led Seattle with a season-high 29 points and a career-best 18 rebounds. ... College football: North Carolina has cleared football and multiple other sports to resume workouts after temporarily pausing all athletics activities earlier this week amid rising numbers of coronavirus cases on campus.

Autos: Erik Moses was named president of Nashville Superspeedway, the first Black man to hold that title at any NASCAR track. Moses most recently served as president of the XFL's DC Defenders and now leads the charge of the scheduled Nashville reboot in 2021. The 1.33-mile track was built in 2001 by Dover Motorsports and hosted NASCAR and IndyCar events until 2011.
