CALGARY — Unionized workers at a Calgary Coca-Cola plant say they've approved a new contract with their employer, ending a two-week strike.
About 270 members of the Teamsters Canada union Local 987 walked off the job on March 15 over concerns about job outsourcing.
The union says the new agreement improves job security for its members and gives them a nine-per-cent wage increase over six years.
It says the deal also gives some employees more flexibility to move into different roles in the plant if they're not getting enough hours of work.
The tentative agreement was approved by 73 per cent of the membership.
Union leadership says it was the first strike at the plant since 2004.
