Severe weather is likely tonight as two rounds of storms will move in. The first round of storms will come in this evening and will be the biggest cause for concern. By dinner time or an hour or so after, some isolated storm cells will pop up ahead of the first line of storms that is currently off to the west. The hot and humid conditions we've had all day today will provide a lot of fuel to get storms going very quickly. This is NOT a night to go to bed without having a way to receive any weather alerts. Strong to severe storms will likely have strong wind gusts that could cause damage and a heightened chance for hail. An isolated tornado or two can't be ruled out as well. We'll keep you up to date on any pressing weather tonight on Facebook Live and on the air as needed.
The later round of storms won't come until after midnight, I expect this to be strong but not particularly hitting the severe criteria. I don't expect this to be as much of a concern because we'll have lost the daytime heat and the environment should be worked over at that point. Depending on how late this second line of storms arrives, we could have some lingering showers and storms slowly moving out by the early Monday morning commute (3- 5 AM).
