DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) - Dubuque County Sheriff's Office and Centralia-Peosta Fire responded to a garage fire after a reported lighting strike.
The homeowner reported seeing sparks fly after the lightning strike before smoke and flames were visible Saturday just before 8 p.m.

The fire happened at the Mess residence located at 11175 Hidden Springs Ct.
Crews were able to contain the fire to the single-stall garage that was attached to the home. Total damage is estimated at $10,000.
