Springdale Har-Ber’s Cameron Mains scored 15 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats pulled away for a 50-38 victory over Mountain Home in the Bombers’ home opener on Thursday night at The Hangar.
The Bombers led 13-9 after one quarter, but the Wildcats rallied for a 19-17 halftime lead and a 27-24 third-quarter lead before pulling away in the fourth period.
Reed Ellison and Luke Proctor scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, to lead the Bombers.
The Bombers and Lady Bombers each travel to Paragould on Nov. 30 for their next action.
Lady Panthers advance to championship at Clinton
The Norfork Lady Panthers advanced to the championship of the First Service Bank Tournament with a 44-38 victory over the host Clinton team on Thursday night.
Norfork trailed 12-9 after one quarter before holding Clinton to two points in the second quarter for an 18-14 halftime lead. The Lady Panthers led 29-22 after three quarters and made 7-of-8 free throws in the fourth to hold on for the victory.
Keely Blanchard scored 15 points and made 5-of-6 foul shots in the fourth quarter to lead Norfork (9-0), while fellow sophomore Liza Shaddy added eight points, junior Kiley Alman scored seven, Kylie Manes netted six, Kasey Moody scored four, and Ashlyn Estes and Jordan Rasmussen chipped in two apiece.
Norfork will face Greenbrier (2-0) at 4 p.m. Saturday in the championship game.
MHJH teams split at Bentonville tournament
The Mountain Home Junior Bombers suffered their first loss of the season Thursday night, falling 26-20 to Harrison in the championship game of the Bentonville tournament.
Blaine Tate scored eight and Rhett Gilbert added six for Mountain Home (3-1), which led 7-4 after one quarter before Harrison rallied with a 12-2 second-quarter run.
The Junior Lady Bombers salvaged two wins out of the Bentonville tournament, taking a 35-18 victory over Fayetteville Purple in the consolation final.
Laykin Moore scored 17 points and Whitten Coleman added eight for Mountain Home (2-2), which travels to Conway on Monday.
The Junior Lady Bombers led 4-3 after one quarter and 10-8 at halftime before opening up a 23-12 lead after three.
Mountain Home’s seventh-grade boys rolled to a 45-7 victory over Salem in a home game, with Gus Wilber scoring eight points and Ely Jones adding seven to lead the way.
Mammoth Spring boys gain conference victory
The Mammoth Spring Bears ran to a 70-61 victory over Crowley’s Ridge Academy in 1A-3 Conference play Thursday at Paragould.
Gavin Boddie pumped in 23 points, while Andrew Jones added 16, and Brayden Cray and Nate Rogers notched 14 apiece to lead the Bears (4-5, 3-0).
Norfork Panthers win in consolation bracket
The Norfork Panthers rallied to gain a 55-47, overtime victory over the Conway Christian Eagles in tournament action Wednesday at Clinton.
Caleb McGowan led the comeback, scoring 21 points, while Will Martin netted 17 for the Panthers, who trailed 15-7 after one quarter, 19-16 at halftime and 32-27 after three before forcing a 45-45 tie to end regulation.
