The game-winning bucket capped a 7-0 run over the final 1:28 as the Lady Techsters improved to 4-1 while the Broncos fell to 1-3.
Boise State led 57-53 on a jumper by Rachel Bowers with 1:28 remaining and got the ball back when Trista Hull pulled down a rebound of a missed 3-pointer by Bates.
After Bowers missed a pair of free throws, Keiunna Walker cut the deficit in half on a pair of free throws with 29.9 seconds left.
The Broncos failed to extend the lead when Anna Ostlie went 0-for-2 at the line with 26.9 ticks remaining. Louisiana Tech tied the score 57-57 on a layup by Amaya Brannon with 7.5 second left.
Boise State took a timeout to move the ball into the frontcourt and ran a play for Lalotte. Her shot down low rolled off the rim and the Lady Techsters rebounded to set up the heroics from Bates.
Lalotte posted her second double-double in the last three games with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both totals led the Broncos and the boards tied a career high.
Boise State faces Wisconsin in Boulder, Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
