For the second straight season, the Union girls saw their season come to an unhappy end at the Mississippi Coliseum.
The Lady Yellowjackets struggled from the field as Noxubee County took a 30-26 win in the semifinals of the Girls Class 3A playoffs.
Union finishes the season with a 28-4 record.
The Lady Tigers finished strong in each half as they took a four-point win to end the Lady Yellowjackets’ season.
Union led 11-9 at the end of the first period before Noxubee outscored Union 8-2 in the second to take a 17-13 led into the half.
Union then outscored Noxubee 10-5 in the third to take a slim 23-22 lead into the fourth period. Noxubee then outscored Union 8-3 in the fourth to take the win.
Keirra Russell led Union with 13 points and seven rebounds while Georgia Cooper had nine points. Kataya Bishop and Madison Buckley each had two points apiece.
Union was just 8-of-37 from the field, shooting 21.6 percent from the field. Union was 2-of-14 from the 3-point line in the first half and 1-of-5 in the second, shooting 15.8 percent from the 3-point line for the game. Union was 7-of-13 from the free-throw line for the game.
