The Staten Island FerryHawks dropped their fourth straight game Thursday morning at Staten Island University Community Park, losing to the Kentucky Wild Health Genomes, 7-4, before a sparse crowd of 936.

The loss dropped Staten Island to 9-6 in the second-half standings of the Atlantic League’s North division and 27-53 overall. The Genomes are 42-38 overall in the South standings and 7-7 in the second half.

The Genomes jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first, but the FerryHawks took a 2-1 lead in the home second as newcomer Ramon Osuna belted a two-run homer.

However, the lead was short-lived as Kentucky scored four times in the third -- the big blow a two-run homer by Luke Becker -- off losing hurler David Martinez (6 IP, 9 hits, 6 ER), who fell to 1-2.

From there, the teams exchanged solo runs, but the FerryHawks could never catch up.

Rusney Castillo led the FerryHawks’ 11-hit attack by going 3 for 3. Dilson Herrera was 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Javier Betancourt was 1 for 4 with an RBI.

NOTES: The FerryHawks begin a six-game road trip starting Friday with three games vs. Lexington. After an off day Monday, they visit the Long Island Ducks Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in another Battle of the Belt series.
