Teamsters Union announces 3rd bus system strike - KOLO

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - NOV. 9 11:10 A.M. UPDATE RTC drivers have walked off the job for a third time in four months, striking against RTC bus operator Keolis.

Keolis had offered the union workers a 4 percent pay raise over each of the next three years. Teamsters Local 533 says about 90 percent of its members voted against the deal, and they are five percent apart on wages and even further apart on retirement benefits.

RTC Washoe says there are contingency plans in place for riders.

We have been made aware that transit workers could go on strike again soon. While there is no strike at this time, the RTC is preparing contingency plans in the event a strike does occur. We will keep our passengers updated as we know more. pic.twitter.com/VBvrvjUUoV
