RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -A crash closed McCarran Boulevard near Clear Acre Lane for several hours Thursday and a motorcyclist is expected to lose his leg, the Reno Police Department said.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. A motorcycle and a Jeep crashed on McCarran Boulevard just west of Clear Acre Lane, police said.
The Jeep entered eastbound McCarran Boulevard from a driveway and crashed into the eastbound motorcycle, police said.
The crash was not fatal but police believe the motorcyclist will lose his leg.
The Jeep driver stayed on the scene. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. Police do not believe impairment was a factor.
