EARLY KERR TIMEOUT SPARKS WARRIORS' RUN
Seeing Andrew Wiggins commit a turnover and foul in transition, Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr called an early timeout with 9:46 remaining in the first quarter. After the timeout, the Warriors went on an 8-0 run, including six points from Wiggins. The Warriors' offense went stagnant after that run, going over four minutes without a point. However, the Dubs remained in the game with their defense. Inserting Gary Payton II into the starting lineup, the Warriors' defense in the opening quarter held the Lakers without a made 3-pointer (0-4) and to just 8-for-23 shooting from the field (34.8 percent).

CURRY AND LOONEY PICK AND ROLL SUCCESS
Late in the second quarter, Stephen Curry and Kevon Looney began to hunt Anthony Davis in the pick-and-roll to make him play in space. With 2:08 left in the half, Curry used a Looney ball screen and hit a switching Anthony Davis with a crossover dribble. He then penetrated into the paint and dimed up a cutting Donte DiVincenzo for a layup. On the ensuing possession, Curry had LeBron James guarding him but again hunted the switch. Once he got it, Curry hit Davis with a step-back three from the Crypto.com logo. That 3-pointer was the 610th splash of his playoff career and having made 3,390 in the regular season, he became the first player in NBA history to reach 4,000 career threes (regular season and playoffs combined). Curry and Looney ran the pick and roll yet again on the next possession as Curry split both James and Davis for a layup while drawing contact. With 1:01 remaining in the half, Curry attempted and made the Warriors' first free throw. Scoring a game-high 17 points in the first half, Curry scored or assisted on 32 of their 52 points (61.5 percent).

PAYTON II SPARKS WARRIORS' RUN
The Warriors opened the third quarter with five straight points, a layup from Gary Payton II and a 3-pointer from Klay Thompson. Then, the Lakers burst on a 10-0 run, capped by an Austin Reaves 3-pointer. The Warriors responded with an 11-0 run, seven of which came from Payton II, including finishing an alley-oop from Stephen Curry. Payton II tied a career playoff-high with 15 points, which he's done twice vs. the Celtics and Nuggets in 2022 playoffs. The Dubs outscored the Lakers by four in the quarter to expand their lead to seven.

STEPHEN CURRY'S THIRD CAREER TRIPLE DOUBLE
After securing the rebound that gave him a triple-double in the fourth quarter, Stephen Curry hit a jumper over Anthony Davis, moving him past Larry Bird for 12th place on the NBA's all-time playoff scoring list. Curry scored 31 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 14 assists for the third triple-double of his playoff career. Curry also had three steals in the game but struggled from behind the arc, hitting only three of his 14 3-point attempts. Excluding Curry's 10 fourth-quarter points, the Warriors mustered just seven points in the final quarter.
