Angels offense goes quiet as they lose again - Halos Heaven

Well, this recap is going to be pretty short.

The offense was missing in action on Saturday as they were held scoreless on only four hits, losing to the Red Sox, 9-0. They’ve now lost four games in a row and 10 of their last 13 games.

It likely would have been too much to overcome, but the Angels had a number of opportunities to score runs. In addition to their four hits they had seven walks as a team. Unfortunately, they went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position and left nine runners on base.

Dylan Bundy got the start, and it ended up being his worst of the season. He went four innings and allowed seven runs on eight hits. For the season, Bundy is now 0-5 with an ERA of above 6.00. This truly is shocking coming off the best season of his career in 2020 in which he received Cy Young votes.

There really isn’t anything left to say here, as this stretch has been absolutely brutal for the Angels. The team is now 16-22, and only three teams in all of baseball have a worse record. LA is now 6.5 games back of first place.
